Suspension-Extension Coyopa Yoga Suspension-Extension Coyopa Yoga is a challenging class that utilizes straps (similar to TRX) to enhance your yoga practice. Class starts with some stretching, and once the body warms up, begins to pick up the pace. You will work on a flow sequence that will get the heart rate up.
Utilizing the straps, you will stretch muscles that are more difficult to stretch in other types of exercises. The straps are used to help balance and stretch deeper (but safely) into yoga postures. This class is focused on strengthening, relieving pain, and preventing injuries. It helps to release tension, strengthen muscles, and increase flexibility.
Coyopa, or “lightening of the blood” is the equivalent of “chi” in the Mayan language. Some people also associate it with “kundalini” and the “awakening of the serpent.”
Class is heated between 90-95 degrees.
