MayaVeda Meditation and Yoga Retreat
Stay in a resort with over 100 acres of garden and jungle, within steps from the Mayan temples. You’ll enjoy daily yoga classes, meditation sessions at the hotel and the temple grounds, and will have time to explore the area. You will also visit a cenote, Mayan caves, and by popular request, an organic tequila distillery, where you will get a tour of the process of making tequila and agave (which many use as a sweetener). Throughout the trip, Luiz will also be addressing the Mayan history and culture of the area. You will be introduced to important facts about the temples, ancient monuments, and the history such as Quetzalcoatl, Kukulkan and Xibalba. You will learn about celestial events and advanced astronomy. Sacred rituals of the cenotes, hieroglyphics that honor other worldly rulers, and the disappearance of the Mayan people will also be discussed. These are all things that Luiz has learned from his visits of the land and his studies. He will also discuss the connection that he has found between Mayan meditation and yoga.
