I turned to yoga about 3 years ago when I was going through a particularly difficult time in my life. I was battling severe mental illnesses including bipolar, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and PMDD. While music and therapy helped me work through a lot of emotions, I still had a lot of energy. I found that yoga not only helped with physical activity, but helped me connect deeper within myself and my surroundings. Thanks to yoga I have been episode and medicine free, not to mention being in the best shape of my life!
As a professional. musician, I wanted to find a way to share my experiences through performance. I toured across the US and Canada with multimedia productions that utilize percussion, video, and spoken word in meditative performance surrounding social topics including climate change and mental health awareness. However, I realized I was still missing the physical element in my productions and eventually found my way to Yoga Teacher Training. Now, I fuse my love of music with yoga and mindfulness/lifestyle techniques to create a one-of-a-kind mind, body and spirit experience. We all have our own battles and it can be hard to face when we don't understand what we're dealing with. I want to create a sacred space where we can address and express ourselves freely on our yoga mat.
